Filipino Presentation Blog post



This is a blog post about the Filipinos in my class, Axle, Skyler, Vann, Lars, Shekinah and Rieya. They did a presentation in front of the class about there culture and told us a little bit of there language and 2 games they play in Philippines too.

Bunsen Burner Drivers Licence

Aim: learn about the safe use of a Bunsen Burner and get a Bunsen Burner Licence.

Equipment:
  1. Bunsen Burner
  2. Bunsen Burner sheet The Bunsen Burner

Method:
  1. In threes you need to set up a bunsen burner.
  2. You must have turns while the others check to see you are correct.
  3. Work your way through the sheet together checking off the tick
Complete the checklist with someone else.

What are the 6 parts of a Bunsen Burner?




1. Nozzle
2. Barrel
3. Air hole
4 Gas pipe
5 Base
6.Collar


What are the two main types of flame? Blue and orange

Which flame is the hottest and why? Blue because it can melt things 

Which type of flame is: 

 - used for heating? Blue

 - is called the safety flame? Orange

- would be the most visible? Blue

- Cause soot to form? open

What is the correct order?

1. Light the match
2. Turn on gas
3. Light the Bunsen burner
4. Close the air hole
Always wear safety glasses when using a bunsen burner

This is a poster that I did with my partner Addyson. Our poster is about information of Vicky Lewis. We struggled finding information about her but later on we manged to find some.

Making a draw string bag

For the last 4 weeks at technology, my whole class have been making some draw string bags and back pack bags. I am partners with my friend Addyson and we worked well together. This is how far I got for my bag.













    

    

        

This is my final look of my bag and I hope you like it.

It's also the last week of being with our amazing teacher miss Laycock, she has teached us a lot about Soft materials, and it was fun being in a soft material class. Next term we are doing something different and that is Carving wood.

Cultural street art


This is my cultural street art that I will be showing and telling you about. I did this street art because there are people who are not happy around the world and I want them to be happy and live happy. There is a speech bubble saying Talofa, which means hello in my culture Samoa. :)

Water temperature






What we did in science

Aim: To observe water as it changes states from solid to liquid and then to gas.
  1. Collect enough ice to half fill the beaker and place the thermometer in the ice cubes while you set up the rest of the equipment.
  2. Set up the bunsen burner, heatproof mat, gauze mat and tripod.
  3. Place the beaker on the gauze mat and gently clamp the thermometer so that it is held upright. The bottom of the thermometer should be low enough to be covered by the water but not toughing the bottom of the beaker.
  4. Record the temperature of the ice.
  5. Light the Bunsen Burner and start timing with your stopwatch.
  6. Record the temperature every 1 minute
  7. Keep recording until the water has been boiling for 1-2 minutes.
