Wananga - Decade Research

Today I will be blogging about what I have been upto in my wananga class. We started doing this decade work project, researching about events, famous people, disasters, inventions, fashion and more that has happen in the past. There are different years on each slide and I have completed 6 of them. We have been doing this for two weeks now and it has been enjoyable for me researching things that happened in the past. I hope you enjoy.

Hello, Goodbye

Today in our wananga class, we did some writing on hellos and goodbyes. We have to write upto 4 paragraphs about what the main things we will miss that we did during lockdown. Hope you enjoy them.

Hello to the company of family and friends with fun times and laughter. Goodbye to my calm days alone with peace and quiet and privacy.

Hello to the loud annoying alarm next to my ears every morning. Goodbye to going on my devices until 2:00 in the morning, my sleep ins and my daily workouts.

Hello to the takeaway foods every Thursday or Friday for dinner. Goodbye to my mum’s cooking that she keeps repeatedly making everyday.

Hello to the school uniforms, school bags, lunches and teachers every morning at 8:30. Goodbye to our mufti clothes and the Xbox playing fortnite and Gta.

PE Blog Post

Today in PE we played some tables tennis and tried to attempt to juggle. When I was playing table tennis it was very difficult for me to not miss hitting the ball and not hit the ball off the table. It was very hard but after a few tries, I managed to hit the ball 3 times with it staying on the table.

Later on after a few rounds of table tennis, I attempted to juggle scarfs and bean bag balls. I first tried practicing using the scarfs then with the balls, and I found it more difficult than playing table tennis. It was very hard for me to keep throwing it in the air and catching it while trying to repeat the same rhythm without stopping, but I couldn't keep up with the timing.

The process through both activities was hard but I did enjoy trying to attempt them. Overall it was a fun PE lesson and I would want to do it again in one of our other PE lessons.

Word Art about Lockdown

Today I am blogging about a word cloud we had to create on this site called Word Art. We had to write about how our lockdown went and what we did during the whole 7 weeks and had to describe it using one word. We were allowed to write down anything we wanted and I hope you like it.

Lockdown Reflection

How my lockdown went:

During the 7 weeks of lockdown, I have had my ups and downs but it has been good for me. I started my own workout using this app and it made me feel very motivated and woken up every morning. On my workout app it has different choices of which part of your body you want to work on, like your arms legs and belly. There are multiple exercises to do such as, jumping jacks, crunches (which is kinda like a sit up but half way), mountain climbers, knee ups and many more.

Another thing I've done during the lockdown was some baking with my mum and sister. We baked two types of cookies which were m&m and chocolate chip. They were pretty simple to make and the outcome was a success, and I would definitely make it again and recommend to try it yourself.

Overall I really enjoyed working from home because I was more focused and got work done faster but it is good to be back at school.

Visual Art

Today I am blogging about what I have done in my Visual Art class. We have been focusing and learning about Manga, Pasifika, Kowhaiwhai and Art Nouveau and also learned some technics like Dry Brush, Blending and Glazing.

The Aim and big idea that we are looking at is:
To learn about the elements of line, colour, value and space and how to apply them to create the principles of rhythm, repetition and pattern in a work of art.

Brainstorm - Textiles

Today our teacher has set us another task for this week for Textiles. We had to brainstorm some ideas around Reduce<Reuse<Recycle about what we are going to make when we go back to school, and had to share them on a slide, document or any digital tool. I have decided to do this with my friend Hope and we have already came up with some cool ideas that you might like.

Here is our slide with all of our different ideas:

Beeswax Wraps - Instructions Poster

Today I am blogging about what I have done in my textiles work. In textiles our teacher has set us some work to do for this term and that is focusing on Beeswax Wraps. I have created a poster on a google drawing of instructions on how to make a beeswax wrap using a iron method.
I struggled finding the right instructions to display because there were different tutorials to choose from but eventually I found a good one that I could understand.

Here is my poster and I hope you enjoy:

Free Drawing at home

A few weeks ago, I've been doing some free drawing in my Art book. I wanted to do something relaxing so through out the day I would feel calm and have a clear mindset. Drawing is one of my favourite things to do in my free time and I really enjoy doing it. I do different kinds of drawings that I research on my Chromebook, and they would be simple and basic things such as Disney characters,  Samoa pattern drawings or Manga eyes. I feel like this is a good way to show people what I can do and what my passions are, telling you something about myself.

Here are some of my drawings and I hope you like them:

My Workout Routine at Home

From the very start of this isolation I have been exercising and kept motivated with my body. I have downloaded this workout app on my phone called fitness/workout and in my opinion, it is actually working and growing on me. I've been doing this for weeks now every morning at 10:00am and it is making me feel active and fresh.

Sometimes my sister would join me in my workouts and try keep fit and active with me, it makes me happy because I have someone to keep me company and to make it more fun to do having a workout buddy.

On my workout app, it has different choices of which part of your body you want to work on, like your arms, legs, belly etc. There are multiple exercises to do such as, jog in place, jumping jacks, knee ups, squats, Mountain climber pulls, Crutches which is kinda like a sit up but half way and more. It is really enjoyable and I am loving it.

I hope you enjoy my blog post about my workout at home.
