Visual Art: Transcription Street Art

 Hi there,

Today in Art we began doing some transcription of Street Art. Our task was to look at various street murals and choose one we were interested in. We also looked at different types of cultural art and or just any art style. I quite enjoyed the process of having to use a grid and use a different section of the art, I used half of a flower with a bit of pattern showing. The piece of artwork I chose was a Samoan, pacific kind of art.

Visual Art: Street Art

Visual Art: Street Art

Today in Art we had to find a piece of Street Art that we found interesting and liked. I chose this piece of Art created by Reuben Woods. The first feature that caught my eyes was the peace sign, it really stands out. I also found the blending of colours they were used quite cool.

Art: Michael Mew

 Hi there,

In this blog post I will be writing about what I have been working on in Art. We combined a photo montage with drawing and painting, this art was inspired by Micheal Mew. We had to cut pieces that really caught our eyes, out of an magazine that we liked. Once we had enough images, we got a plain sheet of paper to organise our images on and create variety of different montages, and find out which one would be our final product. Later we drew thumbnail sketches of our montage to think of ideas to add onto our art, to make it more creative and appealing.

Drawing for Tone, Texture and Proportion

Today this post will be about what we have done for the past weeks in Art. I have two photos of my drawings, they are not completed yet but I hope I can improve on them during more Art classes/lessons.

What is Tone? Tone refers to the relatives lightness or darkness of a colour.

What do I want to improve on? I want to improve in my shading and drawing objects. I want to have better drawing skills.

Visual Art

Today in Visual Art we carried on with our paintings/drawings and then had to answer some questions that our teacher has set for us to do in a blog post. I've been having fun and enjoying Art and I can't wait to show you guys my finished product.

Questions:

What your work features:
Culture, Design, Colour,

What is going well?
I have made the right colours that I wanted.
I am happy where I have added the colours on my art.

What is not going well?
I still have a lot of blank spaces to fill in.

What are your next steps?
To fill in the spaces that haven't be done yet.
To complete my whole painting by the end of the term.

What I have learned during the lessons in Art is that I need to take my time, don't rush and give my full attention while painting near the edges, and I need to think about where to put the right colours on my painting.

Visual Art

Today I am blogging about what I have done in my Visual Art class. We have been focusing and learning about Manga, Pasifika, Kowhaiwhai and Art Nouveau and also learned some technics like Dry Brush, Blending and Glazing.

The Aim and big idea that we are looking at is:
To learn about the elements of line, colour, value and space and how to apply them to create the principles of rhythm, repetition and pattern in a work of art.

Here is my finished Art work and I hope you like it.
