Creative Writing about Shoes

One day I was on my way home from school. I was walking with my siblings and my friend who lives next door to me. Their names are Warehouse and Stirling Sports. I got home and unpacked my bag and straight away went and asked my parents if I could go to my friends house. My parents names are Vans and Gumboots. They said "yes be home at 5:00".

I went out the door and ran to Stirling Sports house. I knocked on her door and waited until she let me in. Stirling Sports had finally answered and we started watching Youtube on her Tv and filmed some TikToks/Musically's. After that it was 4:20, we went outside and played a couple of games of Netball, Stirling Sports had 23 points and I only had 9. She was way a head of me.

Later on that day, it was 5:00. I said bye to Stirling Sports and said "see you tomorrow at school". I left to go home and had a shower. I put on my pyjamas and got comfortable and warm. I went and had dinner with my whole family and we had Pasta bake, it was delicious. After dinner, I went and brushed my teeth and grabbed my phone. I lied in bed with my phone and waited until I felt sleepy. I said good night to my family. The End

Conclusion
Today in PE, we have been learning how to play this new game called Topu Ae.
We had to get into groups and I was in a group with, Dominique, Faye, Kineka, Bianca,
Zayd, Blake, Kyle and Ryan. Our groups name is The Panthers.
We played a couple of games outside on the courts and then we started writing about how to
play and what were the equipment's, steps and Aim. The aim of the game is to try to knock
off as many Ki/Tennis balls as possible to win and the first team who knocks off all of them
wins.
Overall, I have definitely learned some things from this and it was fun learning how to play

CIP Mindfulness Coloring

This week in CIP we are focusing on Mindfulness Coloring. We first watched a video of a girl singing and coloring in and then discussed about what was the video about and what does Mindfulness Coloring means. We had to get into groups of three and i'm with Keyana and Brianna, and we answered and discussed about some questions we had to answer.
7/8Sh, Tz and Bh is doing a Coloring competition.

How do you think we should organize this event?
I think we should email the schools that we are inviting to join our coloring competition and tell them what date we are starting our coloring competition and what is going to happen in the competition.  After that, we should sort out the coloring sheets for the day we are starting the event so we are already organized.

Revolution Tour Writing

On Tuesday the 28th of May, the Revolution team came and performed in our school. It was a junior assembly from year 7s to 10 and it was during period one/Form time. Last year they came and performed at my school so this was my second time seeing them.

Firstly, a group of girls in the revolution team went up and performed a hip hop dance, it was awesome. Then after they finished, two of the revolution members went up and sang a song for us called, I'm so Tired from Lauv and Troyes. Later on that day, Reggie played different kind of songs on his saxophone and we all sang along. It was one of his talents and he was amazing.

After Reggie playing songs on her saxophone, we played this game called, throw your friend underneath a bus. He asked some of our students and a teacher, Ricci, May, Lyan, a year 9 boy and Miss Tozer, to come up and play the game for us. But he got them up by asking everyone a question about who is the shyest, the smartest, the funniest, the athlete and the best teacher. It was hilarious.

After having a lot of fun with Reggie, he started talking about is life experience when he was young. He was talking about how his mum was in a bad situation and that he got adopted to a foster family. He was also talking about bullying and that bullying isn't a good thing to do and that people should stop. I wish I got the opportunity to talk to him and to introduce myself to him and get to know him more. When he was telling us about his life, we all went dead silents and felt so miserable for him.

Overall I really enjoyed them coming to our school and performing to us and I would really want them to come back again soon or later.

Talking about Puberty - Drama

In Drama, 7/8Sh and 7/8Ds did a puberty talk with Mr Scott and two nurses. They had a slideshow ready for us to watch and it was about what happens to our body and what changes about our body. It was my third time talking about puberty, so it was easy for me to learn and listen about it. What I have learned in the puberty talk is that girls don't need to use tampons when they have there period .  Image result for emotions   Image result for emotions

RESEARCH 4 TYPES OF PLANT GROUPS

  1. Carnivorous plants
  2. Pine trees
  3. Fruit trees
  4. NZ Natives

You will need to do the following:

  1. Title: NZ Natives
  2. Examples:

  •
  •
  •
  •

Habitat: (select one from the list)

  1. Desert / beach / mountains / swamp / plains / forest
Climate (select one from the list)

  1. Hot / warm / cold
  2. Rainy / dry /
  3. Windy / still

Conclusion:
Today in Science we did a experiment called Carnivorous Plants. I was working together with Keyana. We had to find a leaf around the courts and then trace it over white paper with a crayon. After we have done that, we had to try and draw a simple leaf and a compound leaf and write down the three types of trees under evergreen and deciduous.

It was a really fun experiment and I enjoyed learning about it.

Needs vs Wants - CIP

This week in CIP, we have been focusing on Needs vs Wants. We had to think of our own definitions about Needs and Wants in groups and started creating a poster/DLO about them. I created my poster on Piktochart. Here are the definitions we have made and I hope you enjoy.

The definition for needs is something that you constantly need to survive/ live and something that you can't live without.

The definition for wants is like wishing for things we want and things we don't need now but maybe later.

My top 5 wants and needs:

Needs:

  • Food
  • Water
  • Clothes
  • Shelter
  • Phone
Wants:
  • Wifi
  • Technology
  • Cars
  • House
  • Fast Food

Maths interchange - DLO

In Maths interchange, my group and I had a new learning objective, (Use the column Method for multiplication up to 2 digits). We had to create a DLO of ourselves explaining or showing how to solve a question using our new strategie. I have made a video of me explaining a one digit question and the two digit question that I will be explaining, writing down on a google slide because I didn’t have time to record. I hope you learned something from this and I hope you enjoy.

CIP - Take Notice - Graditude

This week in CIP, we have been focusing on Take notice.  7/8Sh, Bh and Tz has been talking about Gratitude. We first watched a video about what gratitude means and how you show gratitude, and it was telling us what was the meaning to it. Gratitude means, being thankful, readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness. We also had to create a poster that is visually and pleasing for the people who are reading it, and the poster had to be about 10 things we are grateful for.

Here is the poster that I have created on a Piktochart:

Emotions Puppet show - Drama

On Tuesday in Drama we were working on making puppets for our puppet show. We had to get into groups of three and create a performance with our puppets about emotions. I was in a group with Keyana and Janel and our film was about friends helping each other when a bully comes up to you. I was the person who was getting bullied from Keyana and Janel was my friend helping me and standing up to the bully. I have the video for you to watch and I hope you enjoy.

Explain how you used your voice to show emotion in the puppet:
I made my voice sound like I was crying and that someone was hurting my feelings.

Emotion words:
Sad, Angry, Happy and Scared

Hurumanu - Mars

Aim: To learn about Mars exploration.

1. Rover facts
2. Design, Draw and Make a Rover
3. Mars facts

1. Rover facts:

What are the 5 parts for?
Link: Rovers 5 parts

Fill in the table below.

Name:
Purpose:
Wheels
The wheels have individual steering motors and the steering capability allows the vehicle to turn in place, a full 360 degrees. The wheels also allows the rover to swerve and curve making arcing turns.
Solar Panel
The main source of power for rovers comes from Multi- Panel Solar. The Solar Panels purpose is to provide energy, not to fly.
Laser
From more then 20 feet away, Super Cam can fire a laser to study rock targets smaller than a pencil point. That lets the rover study spots it can't reach with its arms.
Camera
The rover has several camera's focused on engineering and science tasks. Some of the camera help the rover land and the others are the eyes to help drive around on the surface.
Shovel, rock pick,drill
The Mars 2020 will gather samples from Martian rocks and soil using its drill. The rover will then store the sample cores in tubes on the Martian surface. This entire process is called "sample caching".

2. In groups of 3 you will Design, Draw and Make a Mars Rover out of Lego Technics.

Materials:
  1. Lego Technics
  2. A4 paper
  3. Pencil
  4. Ruler
  5. Eraser
The drawing and model must have:
  • 6 wheels
  • 1 camera
  • 1 tool at the front than includes a shovel, pick and drill.
  • 1 solar panel
  • 1 laser that points at the ground

( Take a photo and upload  your mars rover onto your blog.)

3. Mars Facts

Conclusion: Write about what you have learnt.

Today in science, we were talking about Mars. I was working with Janel, Keyana, Bailey and Khaylanie. We first watched a video of a rocket carrying a rover blasting off into space and then to mars. We also had to draw a picture of a rover with all of the parts/Labels and started making a rover out of Lego

What I have learn't in this science lesson is that a mars rover has different kinds of parts and has to have several cameras on itself. I've also learn't that the solar panels only provide energy but not to fly. Overall I liked finding out facts about Mars and Rovers and I enjoyed doing this.
