300 Word Challenge - Writing

Today period three with Mrs Hastie, we were doing the 300 word challenge. We got a choice about what we were going to write about and I chose to write about my friends 13th birthday that happened recently in the past.

Here is my writing:

Friends Birthday

On October the 18th, on a Friday, it was a very exciting day for me. It was my friend Keyana’s 13th birthday party but her real birthday was on Monday the 21st. She had invited me to her house for her birthday and I was so thrilled and happy that she had invited me. She was going on everyday about what she was going to do on her birthday, and she also told me who she was going to invite. She invited her cousin Jean and our other friends Mikayla and Chloe and that was when I boosted out of excitement.

On that night, we all meet up at her house and surprised her with our presents we got her,
that’s when I had just realized I have forgotten about a present. After giving her our presents,
we went out to our first event bowling, which was on the other side of town.
We all headed to bowling and started playing, I was so elevated.
As the night goes on at bowling, I was coming last, like I always am,
and the others were ahead of me. 

Later after bowling, we went to the time zone area where they have made some
better touches and qualities to it,
and played some of the new games and won a huge amount of tickets
for some awesome prizes. As the time went by,
it was time to go back home for dinner, we had four boxes of pizza,
Ham and cheese, two classic cheese and the
Hawaiian pizza with pineapple and some garlic bread. 

After eating dinner, we got changed into our pj’s and went and laid in
bed and watched a horror movies on Netflix, we watched IT2.
We also had some back up snacks while lying in bed such as, 2 blocks of chocolate,
2 packets of lollies and 2 fizzy drinks. It was one of the most enjoyable sleepovers
I’ve ever been too.  

It was a very considerable time spending time with my friends and with Keyana
for her birthday and I enjoyed every part of it. It was also a really great opportunity
to be invited to her birthday and I am glad she chose me to come and celebrate with her.

Holiday Recount / My highlights

The holidays had finish and everyone is returning to school for Term 4. We had to think about 2 highlights or a low highlight we did in the holidays and write a holiday recount about what we enjoyed, what events we did, who were we with and what was our favourite part.

1. Highlight

During the first week of the holidays, on Thursday, I went to go and see a movie at palms cinema. I went with my mum and siblings and we watched Abominable. It was about a girl who's father that passed away and also owned a violin. Since her father passed away she has kept the violin and played some tunes she had learned from her father when he was still alive. She also met this creature called a yeti who was on top of her roof and discovered that he has been chased by some bad people who wanted to kill him and she wanted to help him get to his home.

It was a nice and enjoyable movie I enjoyed every part of it. 

2. Highlight

On the second week of the holidays, I went to this restaurant called Denny's, twice. The first time with my cousins and brother for dinner, and the other with my mum and brother for breakfast. When I went there for breakfast, I had Oreo Waffles with a Oreo milkshake, my mum had a small 3 stack of normal pancakes with a hot chocolate and my brother had his original order which is Oreo pancakes with a hot chocolate also. The second time when I went to Denny's, I was having dinner. I had Mini Spring rolls, Curly fries and a Oreo Milkshake. It was a delicious meal.     

Overall it was a nice holiday spending time with my family and having a lot of rest. I hope you enjoy reading my highlights of my holiday.

      

Buddhist Temple Writing

Buddhist Temple Writing

On Tuesday the 14th of May, 7/8Sh, Ts, Bh and Tz went to the Buddhist temple. We started off by sorting out what group we were going to be in and then straight away went and had a tour around the Temple. I was in group one. We all went inside and sat down listening to the owner of the Temple and talked about what were the 3G 4G words. The 3G words are, Say Good Words, Do Good Deeds, and Think Good Thoughts. The 4G words were Giving Confidence, Giving Joy, Giving Hope and Giving Convenience.

After talking about the 3G 4G words, we went up stairs and explored the Arts/Pictures that some professional artist made and talked about them for a little while. After that we went into a library room. In the library room, we talked about what kind of things we see in a library and others things, but I can’t remember. Later after the library, we went outside and got a tattoo of the 3Gs and the 4Gs. I got a picture taken with Mikayla and Sharnarnia from one of the helpers too.

Once we’ve got a tattoo, we went in this little room to create these little flowers and sat down and watched a small video clip about a prince becoming a Buddhist. We answered some few questions about the video clip and then it was break time. We had a biscuit and water for our break and in my own opinion the biscuit wasn’t really nice, it taste like playdough.

Later on that day, we all gathered together, group 1 and 2, and walked to this big room. Some kids went up and did this thing where you had to pour water on each shoulder on this doll and say, I will do Good Deeds, Say Good Words and Think Good Thoughts. And also make a wish. We got given a small bell with the 3Gs and 4Gs on it and then it was time to go back to school. I enjoyed going to the Buddhist Temple for the second time and I would like to go back sometime soon.

Orana Park Recount

On Tuesday the 18th of September, all of the year 7s
went on a school trip.
Our location we were going to was Orana Wildlife Park.

The first animal we went to learn about was our native Kiwi.
We learnt that a Kiwi doesn’t have hollow bones in their legs,
has no tail and their wings are underdeveloped.
They also carry their babies eggs for 28 days.

A female kiwi is bigger than a male kiwi because the female has to have enough room in there belly for the baby eggs. When the kiwi’s are six weeks old, they will be leaving their mum. Kiwi have strong legs to kick predators. They’re legs aren’t hollow like birds who can fly.   

   

After the Kiwi’s, we went to learn about a native Keas. Chocolate is toxic to Keas. Never feed your food to Keas, it is not good for them. Make sure you chase a Kea off your car before you start driving because they will fall off and die or hurt their self badly.

Did you know that Spider monkeys
has a thumb print on the end of their tail and
also use their tail for balance?

Lions have the loudest roar of all wild cats.
It can be heard from 5 miles away.  

Tasmanian Devils are marsupials and carry their babies
in their pouches.
Only the strongest four survive because the mum only
has four teats to feed from.
They cling onto each others backs to be carried.  

Tigers live alone and spray to mark their territory.

Zebras are born black and then develop their white stripes.
Every Zebra has unique stripes.

Cheetahs need to rest after they hunt and sometimes their
food gets stolen by lions or hyenas.
Cheetah are the only large cat that can purr.

The oldest ape is dominant and the young apes must give
him whatever he wants.

Giraffes tongue changed colour so it doesn’t get sunburnt.
Giraffes can kick in every direction.

 

Rhinos eat the giraffes grass at Orana park so that the giraffes
don’t eat it and get them sick.
Rhino horn is made out of the same stuff as our hair and nails
(Keratin).

Water buffalo love to swim in water, but hide from the rain.

Orangutan place bags above their heads to keep them cool and
safe from the sun.

Pigeon impossible

Pigeon impossible

One great sunlit day, I was a man who was a spy. For a man like me, I do very dangerous work. So my first job is this. I was walking across the road and I wasn’t paying attention. When I wasn’t paying attention, the cars started driving, they were telling me to hurry up and cross the road. I was terrified that they were going to run over me. Once a have crossed the road, I saw a guy holding a silver case which is a spy guy that I knew.

So I walked beside him and grabbed the silver case. I got it and went and sat on the bench to have a look inside. There were lots of buttons that control a rocketship. I also was eating a chocolate doughnut to keep my brain focused, until a pigeon came and landed its paws on the bench. The pigeon was staring at my doughnut so I broke a piece off and threw it on the floor. The pigeon looked at it as I threw it down but didn’t even go and eat it. I was confused as I looked at doughnut. When I looked at my doughnut, the pigeon flew right at my face. I had to throw the hole doughnut so the pigeon would go away.

When the pigeon went for the the doughnut, its paw got stuck on the top of the case and fell right inside. The pigeon got stuck inside, and now the pigeon is going to press any button that can work and destroy the city. The pigeon pushed a button that can control the whole case, so I went towards the case and it jumped towards me with the lid opening the same time. So I stood away and watched it keep jumping away. There was a lady walking and she was screaming and running. I looked back at the case and it started shooting out lasers, so I ran to the corner.

Now that the pigeon is getting used of the buttons, the pigeon started shooting more and started pressing other buttons. There was one button that can make the case fly. The pigeon found the flying button, and it zoomed up in the sky crazy. As it flew right in the sky, it was coming right back at me shooting lazers. I was running and panicking, then I tripped over my foot and fell on the ground. I looked up and saw the doughnut and picked it up and went in the middle of the road, and tried getting the pigeons attention of the doughnut.

The pigeon flew down and saw the doughnut. The pigeon opened up the case half way and I said to come as I was waving the doughnut. I tried running up to the pigeon but the pigeon went back in and pointed a rocket towards me. I tried waving the doughnut again, but I had to throw it up in the sky, so the pigeon looked up and I whacked the pigeon out. When I through the doughnut up in the sky, it came back down and pressed the red button.

I got up and wiped some dusted off my shoulder. I looked in front of me and saw a rocketship blasting off. I looked at my case and it said that the rocket was blasting off into Moscow Russia. I looked at my friend from work and he was looking worried and kinda mad at me. I got my case and flew up to the rocketship to stop it. I was gonna shoot it but the pigeon came up to me and hit my arm. I had one arm off the case and the pigeon was on the case right near the gun pointing at its neck.

So I looked at him in the eye and changed the gun into a rocket. I stared a bit longer and the pigeon got scared, so I laid my hand print on the case to unlock it. The doughnut was still in the case, it flew out and fell down to the ground. The pigeon went and followed the doughnut, and now I can shoot the little rocket to the huge rocket. I shot it and the huge rocket exploded in the sky. The sky was black smoke and it looked like a coconut tree. I flew down and unpacked the case to the way it was supposed to be then I saw the pigeon eating the doughnut eating joyfully. I put my classes on and walked away. The rocketship came down and fell right on the pigeon, so the pigeon is dead. The End

The Ridge

The Ridge

One charming day, I was sailing away in my boat with my bike. I was going biking up steep, terrifying mountains. The clouds were clear and fluffy like cotton and the sea was calm and peaceful with the little waves.

I jumped out of my boat and splashed in the water. My socks and shoes got wet and soggy. I carefully grabbed my bike out of the boat and stood it up on the sand where there's no water. I got on my bike and started riding over the bumpy rocks up ahead. I was excited and ready and my hands were shaking and my legs were ready to patle.

After riding over those bumpy rocks I got higher and started leaping over rocks to rocks like parkour. I was feeling so proud of myself, but I little terrified. My bike got weak up the mountains so I had to carry it up.

When I got to the top I felt my legs getting stronger and tougher. I got back on my bike and started going down and I felt my heart beating really fast as a cheetah running as fast as it could.

As I was still riding my bike I got to another high mountain and again I had to carry my bike up the mountain. I was exhausted and couldn’t be bothered but I just did it anyway. I was at the top and I could see the hot yellow sun and everything. It was a good place to have a full look.

I had to go back down again and head back to my boat out in the beautiful sea. There was a electric wire line and I was thinking to do I flip over it and I did. Got back from where I started and just sat down and relaxed.

After relaxing, the sun was rising down, so it was time to head back to my boat and sail back home. When I saw the sun rising down it looked really beautiful and appealing.

One day I had to stay at my grandma’s house. I like staying at my grandma’s house because I know she has a secret room. Her secret room has all the presents for Christmas and jewelry. I knew about the secret room because of my mum. I was happy. I went in the secret room and saw a bluebird in a cage. The bird was sleeping and I didn’t know my grandma had a bird.

I was afraid and scared. I still went in, but I quietly crawled in. My grandma had squeaky sounds when she walks and crawls on the floor. I made the noise and the bird woke up. The bird woke up and started banging on the cage to try get me but he couldn’t.

My legs were shaking and my hands were sweating as it was dripping on the floor. I ran out of the secret room without closing the door. I didn’t know I left the door opened because I was very scared. So I just left it.

My grandma came walking and calling out to me. When she was walking, she walked passed the opened door. She kept walking and sat down with popcorn and a drink in her hand. She put the popcorn down and spilt the drink, so she went and got a cloth.

She got a cloth and saw the door opened of the corner of her eyes. She closed the door and just went back and cleaned the mess up. She didn’t ask me if I went in the secret room, she just cleaned up. I was lucky to not get told off.

The mean birds

The mean birds

One fresh normal day, arrived a little bluebird on the electricity wire lines. The little bluebird arrived, and shook its fur to get comfortable, then another bluebird arrived and yawned the same time as he moved his arms, he yawned and hit the other bird in the face on accident and nearly at the eye. So he shoved him to the side and yelled at his face and stepped away.

Until another bird arrived when he stepped away and budget into to him and started an another argue again, so it’s going to repeat over and over again when other birds are going to arrive. They all were arguing and pushing and then finally this big different shaped bird came and stopped the arguing so it won’t go for long. Anyway the big bird waved at them in a very polite way. All the little birds got a fright, and there faces were huge. After they’re gotten a fright, they started making fun of him but all he wanted was friends.

When the big bird waved at the little birds, they moved away from him and talked in each other's ears about him. But he flew between them and they were heading down to the ground because the big bird was heavy. The little birds slid down to the big bird like they were cuddling him, but yet one little bird bit the big bird on its waist and he fell and hanged down with his feet still grabbed on the electricity wire lines.

The 2 little birds were peaking on the big birds toes so he can fall off, one little bird looked down and got scared because he saw that there going to blast off up into the sky, so that bird told the others. The others were freaking out when the bird told them, and they hurried and told the 2 birds to look down and they blast off into the sky when they stopped peaking.

After they blasting off, they were all not covered in fur so they were bold and un fury. When they were bold and un fury the big bird was laughing non stop, now the little birds were embarrassed and hid behind the big bird.

One day in a busy street, there were some yellow cute pigeons sitting in their nest jumping around. They all got tired from jumping around and felt hungry. One pigeon saw a delicious pink strawberry icing cupcake outside someone’s window, so that pigeon told the other pigeons.

1 pigeon followed the other pigeon that spotted the cupcake then the other pigeon was looking around and thinking that they're going to get told off by their mother, But the pigeon just went and followed the others.

The pigeons tried jumping and grabbing the cupcake but  it failed. The next idea that the pigeons going to use is standing on top of each other. They stood on to each other and walked towards the cupcake and they end up fall down and hurting there self.

Next they made there own seesaw so they can boost one pigeon up to the cupcake and two on the other side of the seesaw, but the pigeon crashed against the gutter and failed.

3 hours later...

The pigeon’s had no ideas left to get the cupcake, so they walked back to there nest and starved until there mother comes back with the food. There mother finally came back with the food and they were excited, the pigeon’s were excited when they saw there mother with some food but there was only one worm, so they were upset.

Ormie

Once upon a time there was a pig called Ormie looking up all cool walking to the living room, until there was cookies on top of a fridge smelling so good that he freezer and smelt it, Ormie was very excited.

Ormie was very excited that he tried using a broom to hit the cookies off, but it didn’t work. He sweep a stole and tried running up and jumping off it but he end up face planting the fridge.

He opened the freezer door and fell on the floor, a bunch of ice pour out and cover his whole body. There was 2 more ice coming to pour on him, and he caught it in a cup of water.

Then Ormie tried to use 4 books, ironing table and a watermelon. He carried the watermelon up the ironing table and threw at the end of the ironing table and it lift him up and he looked very squashy.

Next he grabbed some boxes from biggest to smallest and threw them up in the air and made them into stairs to walk up. He put his bib on and walked up the boxes and tried reaching for it, yet he fell in the boxes all the way to the floor.

After that he went to get a trampoline from outside his house and jumped on it and tried snatching the cookies off the fridge but it still doesn’t work. So Ormie was sad and had tears in his eyes.

The next plan Ormie’s going to do is jump off a plane and use his umbrella to land safe, yet his umbrella was braking so he fell and bounced off his butt and he just nearly got it, he was very angry.

When Ormie was angry he sat down and he bumped into the fridge and there was cookies raining down his head, so he was happy and picked a cookie up, he was going to eat one until the jar fell on top of his head, and now he can’t eat it.

One cold snowy day in a small narrow village, everyone is keeping warm in their houses with their hot flaming fire on. I was a 6 year old girl skipping along the narrow village going to write my name on the green board. I was going to write my name on the green board because I know when I’m over 4 years old, I can write my name on the green board.

I wrote my name, my light green eyes spotted a doll in a random shop. So I went to the window and looked at the doll. It was wearing the same clothes as me. I was surprised. When I looked up, the doll disappeared so I tried looking for it. I went right to the door and found her, I pulled the door handle but it was locked, I was angry, so I threw a snowball hard at the door.

After trying and trying and trying, I walked away angry sliding my hand on the wall. Then magically I heard the squeak from the door and it opened half way. I twirled around and ran to the door, I opened it wide and went inside. After that I started looking at the other dolls while I walked in then I saw the doll just like me and reached my hand to it, but yet I stepped on a toy on accident. I picked the toy up and set it free.

When I set the toy free, I went to look on the table and the doll was not there, I was very surprised. I found the doll on the shelf, I went to the shelf and climbed on the couch and bit my glove off and touched the doll and it grabbed me and made me inside the doll, so now i’m the doll. There was another doll twirling up and that’s the doll who another person comes and gets grabbed inside.

One day I was in a old, poor street walking with my mother. It was only my mother and myself not my father because he had cancer and passed away. I am 6 years old and I was wearing a red warm coat. My mother and I are walking because we are going to the shop to buy more food and water to keep our health up.

When we finished buying food and water we walked out of the shop and, I saw a old wrinkly man sitting in the corner with no food and water, he was very poor. So I said to my mother

“ can I go up to that man and give him some food and water and come back” and she said

“ yes you can go ”.

I went to him and gave him some food and water then he said

“ thank you kind girl “. After I gave food and water to the man he went home and I went back to my mother. He was very happy and joyful.

The next day I was walking to the shop and I saw that same man sitting in the corner yesterday, I was thinking that he’s doing that just to get more food and water from me, but I ignored him and looked away.

He looked at me but I just didn’t look back, I kept walking. As I kept walking I said to my mother “ can we move faster “ but she said to me “ why “ and I said “ there’s that man from yesterday  looking at me wanting more food and water “ and she said “ why do you have to give food and water to him in the first place, then she stopped and said yes because she knows she talking for ages.

We finally finished getting our stuff and now we can go home and get away from that man looking at me with his old rusty beard and his sleepy old eyes.

After seeing the man we went home and I straight away took my red coat off and got some food and water, and went in my room and watched tv. Until I saw that man outside my window banging on it, he must of followed my mother and I when we were walking.

My heart was beating really fast and I couldn’t breathe, like I am having an heart attack. I took a big deep breath and breathed and breathed until I felt better.

I yelled and called my mum really loud and she ran fast to my room like that was her first time. She came in and she saw the man outside my window so she called the police. The police came and drag the man into the car, the man was yelling so loud that he didn’t want to go to jail but he did. One police officer came and talked to my mother and said we are safe now, and now we can relax and watch tv.
