Overall it was a fun and enjoyable two terms in textiles technology and would want to do it again.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Sustainability Project - Textiles
This is the slideshow about Sustainability that I have been working on during my Textiles classes. We had to think of our own project to work and complete by the end of the term and I did this together with Addyson. We decided to try to make old crayons in candles to be sustainable and not waste crayons, and it took us four attempts to get this product done and completed. We worked so hard on this and I am surprised on how it turned out.

Political Poster - Power to the People
For power to the people, my last task was to create a political poster and I made it about our Prime minster, Jacinda Ardern. I made my poster on a google drawing and I hope you like it.
Mother Teresa Poster - Social Studies
Today in Social Studies I have created a poster about the key events in Mother Teresa's life. I have added some of her achievements that she had received and I hope you like it.

Heros & Villains - Social Studies
Today in Social Studies, we were focusing on finishing our timelines on Heros and Villains. We had to choose a popular celebrity like a president or an inspirational person who changed the world and I chose Barack Obama. I did some research on him about his life from present to where he is at now, and it took awhile to find some interesting things about past life. I have decided to display this on this site called visme and I hope you enjoy.

Visual Art
Today in Visual Art we carried on with our paintings/drawings and then had to answer some questions that our teacher has set for us to do in a blog post. I've been having fun and enjoying Art and I can't wait to show you guys my finished product.
Questions:
What your work features:
Culture, Design, Colour,
What is going well?
I have made the right colours that I wanted.
I am happy where I have added the colours on my art.
What is not going well?
I still have a lot of blank spaces to fill in.
What are your next steps?
To fill in the spaces that haven't be done yet.
To complete my whole painting by the end of the term.
What I have learned during the lessons in Art is that I need to take my time, don't rush and give my full attention while painting near the edges, and I need to think about where to put the right colours on my painting.

Types of Government - Social Studies
Through the past three weeks in Social Studies, we have been focusing on Types Of Government. We had to get into groups and I am with Chloe, Keyana, Shontae and Kyla, and then had four tasks to complete. We are displaying our presentation on a slide with all of our research and information and I would say it took us six lessons to get this all done. It has been very stressful through all this but overall it was great learning about Governments.

PE Questions
Today in PE we did some training on Basketball and divided ourselves up into groups of three. There were seven cards around the gym that we had to read, and it would tell us what to do for the training. There were all sorts of things we needed to do like, practice dribbling two balls at the same time and try and dribble a ball between your legs while walking.
Later on we did some research on these six questions that the teacher has set for us to answer.
Overall it was a okay session in PE.
Here are the questions:
How many Olympic games have been canceled? Three times, the first time because of World War 1 and twice during World War ll.

English/Social Studies Work
Today in English/Social Studies I will be blogging about the work we have been doing. We were focusing on our main topic which was about the government and had to research and find information about these 4 women who created change in the world. I displayed my work in a slideshow and I hope you will enjoy it. I had fun researching and learning about these amazing people and can't wait to learn different things in the following weeks.
PE Reflection
Today in PE we played some tables tennis and tried to attempt to juggle. When I was playing table tennis it was very difficult for me to not miss hitting the ball and not hit the ball off the table. It was very hard but after a few tries, I managed to hit the ball 3 times with it staying on the table.
Later on after a few rounds of table tennis, I attempted to juggle scarfs and bean bag balls. I first tried practicing using the scarfs then with the balls, and I found it more difficult than playing table tennis. It was very hard for me to keep throwing it in the air and catching it while trying to repeat the same rhythm without stopping, but I couldn't keep up with the timing.
The process through both activities was hard but I did enjoy trying to attempt them. Overall it was a fun PE lesson and I would want to do it again in one of our other PE lessons.

Hello, Goodbye
Today in our wananga class, we did some writing on hellos and goodbyes. We have to write upto 4 paragraphs about what the main things we will miss that we did during lockdown. Hope you enjoy them.
Hello to the company of family and friends with fun times and laughter. Goodbye to my calm days alone with peace and quiet and privacy.

Hello to the loud annoying alarm next to my ears every morning. Goodbye to going on my devices until 2:00 in the morning, my sleep ins and my daily workouts.
Hello to the takeaway foods every Thursday or Friday for dinner. Goodbye to my mum’s cooking that she keeps repeatedly making everyday.
Hello to the school uniforms, school bags, lunches and teachers every morning at 8:30. Goodbye to our mufti clothes and the Xbox playing fortnite and Gta.

Lockdown Reflection
How my lockdown went:
During the 7 weeks of lockdown, I have had my ups and downs but it has been good for me. I started my own workout using this app and it made me feel very motivated and woken up every morning. On my workout app it has different choices of which part of your body you want to work on, like your arms legs and belly. There are multiple exercises to do such as, jumping jacks, crunches (which is kinda like a sit up but half way), mountain climbers, knee ups and many more.
Another thing I've done during the lockdown was some baking with my mum and sister. We baked two types of cookies which were m&m and chocolate chip. They were pretty simple to make and the outcome was a success, and I would definitely make it again and recommend to try it yourself.
Overall I really enjoyed working from home because I was more focused and got work done faster but it is good to be back at school.
