Today in Maths Interchange, my group and I have been focusing on our new Learning objective, Dividing using multiplication strategies. We had to create a DLO using any digital learning tools and write different word problems to share with a partner in our group. I hope you enjoy.

Splitting Strategy - Maths
Today in Maths Interchange we have been focusing and learning how to do our new strategy. The Splitting Strategy. We had to answer some questions from the group slide from Miss Birtch's site and then had to create a DLO showing how to do the strategy. I have made my DLO on a google drawing and I hope you have learned and enjoy what I was trying to show and tell you.

Word problems in Maths
This Term on the first week of school, we have been trying to solve out a word problem. We had to think of a strategy to use so we could solve the problem and also share with other groups.
What was the activity?
We had to get into groups of 3 or 4 and workout one big question that has three parts in it, that the teacher had set for all of us.
What strategy did your group try?
The strategy that my group tried to use to solve the question was place value.
What did you find challenging?
What I found challenging was working out how many seagulls or worms did we need and the multiplying and adding. I'm not really good at solving big numbers in multiplication.
How well did your group work together?
Were you successful.
My group was really quiet when someone was asking a question or asking if we had any ideas to help workout the question. I think my group wasn't successful because we didn't really talk as much and help solve question.

Maths interchange - DLO
In Maths interchange, my group and I had a new learning objective, (Use the column Method for multiplication up to 2 digits). We had to create a DLO of ourselves explaining or showing how to solve a question using our new strategie. I have made a video of me explaining a one digit question and the two digit question that I will be explaining, writing down on a google slide because I didn’t have time to record. I hope you learned something from this and I hope you enjoy.

My DLO about our Learning Object
Today in Maths Interchange, my group and I had to make a video of ourselves explaining how to solve this new Learning Object we are doing called, Use the column method for addition questions up to 3 digits. I made a video of myself on Screencastify and I solved the question 74 + 20 on a document. I was very nervous videoing myself explaining our learning object but at the end, my video was fine.

Interchange Maths
In the past two weeks of school, 7/8Sh, Ts, Bh and Tz has been doing interchange Maths. We have been going to different classes for maths and started learning with different teachers and different people from other classes. I am in Miss Birtch class for maths and I am enjoying and having fun learning with her. I also have my friends Keyana, Mikayla, Sharnarnia and Brianna in the same class working with me too.
In maths we first did a small test to see what level we were on and what group we will be put in. I got put into a group called Tapawha and we started off with the blue text book. We were learning our first LO which stands for Learning object and it is, How many tens are there in numbers less than 1000 / Place value, Money. When we started learning our Learning object, I struggled at the start because I was very confused on the questions, but later on that week, I finally understood how to do it.
Here is one example on how to work out one of the questions:
The store only has $100 notes, $10 notes and $1 coins and I wanted to buy a watch which cost $360. So my strategie I did was, I got 3 hundred dollar notes and 6 ten notes to make it $360, because 3 hundred dollars notes are 300 and 6 ten dollar notes are 60, so I have the right amount of money to buy the watch.
Here is a question for you to solve:
A diamond and sapphire brooch cost $43 346 and you need to work out how many dollar notes and one dollars coins you need.
