On the first week back of school in P.E, we have been doing some activities. The Beep test, Dodge ball and Maths/Word problems. For the Beep test, we had to run 20 meters on every beep and I got up to level 4 stage 3. We were supposed to get past level 5 but I started running out of breath really quick. We did the beep test separate from the boys so they went first and then we went after.
For Maths I didn't really know what I was doing because I was traveling somewhere for two weeks while they started maths. But what I already know now is that they were doing some measurements and some word problems in groups about the field. So I just joined in one of my friends group and watched what they were doing.
For Dodge ball we started off thinking of some rules and clever tips for us to think of before we started playing, so it will be a more active and challenging game.
Here are the Dodge ball rules:
1. Two teams start by standing on the bench
2. Run in on whistle to collect the ball
3. Rest back to green line before you throw
4. You get hit by being hit on the full (no bounces) with a dodge ball
5. You can also get someone out by catching their ball on the full
6. When you get out you move to the opposite end of the gym
7. To get your whole team back on playing one of your team mates that are still on needs to hit the small square on the basketball hoop
8. No face shots
9. Be honest
Is our teamwork improving? - Yes and no
Half of my team hasn't be helping and thinking of ideas when we're doing group work and their hasn't been any communicating about the learning and the work. But the other half of the group is helping and participating in the group and wanted to actually get some work done.
How's your fitness level?
My fitness level has improved better because I have asthma that I couldn't really control but now I can take care and control my breathing properly, especially with the inhaler that I take before I start doing any physical things. Its going really well.
I am a student at in Uru Mānuka. In 2020 I was a year 9 and in 2021 I will be a year 10. This is a place where I will be able to share my learning with you. Please note....some work won't be edited - just my first drafts, so there may be some surface errors. I would love your feedback, comments, thoughts and ideas.

Word problems in Maths
This Term on the first week of school, we have been trying to solve out a word problem. We had to think of a strategy to use so we could solve the problem and also share with other groups.
What was the activity?
We had to get into groups of 3 or 4 and workout one big question that has three parts in it, that the teacher had set for all of us.
What strategy did your group try?
The strategy that my group tried to use to solve the question was place value.
What did you find challenging?
What I found challenging was working out how many seagulls or worms did we need and the multiplying and adding. I'm not really good at solving big numbers in multiplication.
How well did your group work together?
Were you successful.
My group was really quiet when someone was asking a question or asking if we had any ideas to help workout the question. I think my group wasn't successful because we didn't really talk as much and help solve question.
