The Author Ella West

Today in Period one, the year 7 and 8s went to the auditorium to met this fabulous writer, Ella west.  She is the author of these two novel books called Night Vision and Rainfall and told us about them. She also told us some things about herself and showed us some of her books she wrote ages ago.

A couple of facts about Ella west:
- Ella west doesn't design her own covers of her books
- She is a journalist
- The government earns more money than her just publishing her books
- She wrote lots of books
- She has a dog named Jim that has different eye colours, one is brown and the other is blue
- She lives in Dunedin
- She owns a sheep farm
- She won the Lianza award in 2015 with her title Night vision
- When Ella west wrote her book, the cover of her book was copied by some else.



Facts about the book called Night vision:
In the book Night Vision, it is about a girl who is allergic to the sun or sunlight and that she has to wear something that will cover her from the sun. The child was lost in a forest and she spotted something that she shouldn't have. She put her own dog name Jim in the story and it was based in Ashburton. In the story there a whole chapter about how to shear a sheep and she also used her own sheep farm in the story. In the rainfall story, I think it's about a boy who was missing and might have been murdered.
