Show don't Tell 

What does "Show don't tell" mean? It is a technique used in many kinds of texts to allow the readers to see the story through action, words, thoughts, senses, and feelings, other than through the authors description or exposition. 

The buildings were tall - I was standing next to buildings that were lofty in the sky. 

Sarah was upset - Sarah fell on her knees sulking with tears pouring out of her eyes.  

She was so happy to see him - She had an mighty grin on her face, as he walked towards her. 

The lake was beautiful - The lake glittered up as the sun shone above the water.
